The Swedish Ceramics Council's environmental symbol – the Butterfly – is a clear guide for the industry when it comes to choosing products with documented good environmental and health properties. The symbol is used to identify building ceramic products and associated materials that meet high chemical requirements and thus contribute to a healthy indoor environment and a more sustainable construction process. The Butterfly serves as support for both clients and regulatory authorities as well as contractors and tilers in the work of making conscious and responsible material choices.

Criteria

Products that are registered in BASTA by members of the Swedish Building Ceramics Council and that meet the criteria for grade ALPHA also meet the requirements for the Byggkeramikrådets's environmental label, the Fjärilen.
