Welcome Jannie Jensema to the Scientific Council
BASTA's Scientific Council is growing and one of the new members is Jannie Jensema from AkzoNobel. We asked her a few questions about her new role.
What is your role at AkzoNobel?
I work as a Regulatory Specialist at Akzo Nobel Decorative Coating. This means I make sure our products are safe and meet all regulatory requirements before we put them on the market. Another important part of my job is to collect all the product information needed to put our products in BASTA and get them labeled with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel.
How will you work in the BASTA Scientific Council?
I will participate in discussions on the management and development of the BASTA criteria in the BASTA Scientific Council. In my opinion, the BASTA criteria should drive the development of more sustainable and safe products, but at the same time should be realistic so that the quality and functionality of the product will not be compromised. I hope to contribute to that discussion with knowledge about chemical products, and more specifically about color.
In addition, as a user of the system, I would like to contribute to ensuring that the system is easy to use and that both suppliers and construction projects have access to accurate and up-to-date information on construction products and how they meet various requirements.
