What is your role at Trossa?

I have a PhD in organic chemistry and have worked for about 13 years in the pharmaceutical industry with process development for the production of active substances.

When I left that, I switched to working with chemical and sustainability issues with chemical relevance.

I have now worked at Trossa for almost 10 years as a consultant. In that role, I do all sorts of things. Here are some examples:

  • Helping customers (both small, medium and large companies) with their chemical work. Right now, there are many building materials companies and companies that work with materials / products intended for food contact. I help the building materials companies with compilations of material and substance content, make building product declarations, make BASTA assessments, have contact with BVB, SH and the Swan, etc.
  • Do audits for BASTA and Möbelfakta
  • Do investigations / assignments for authorities
  • Hold training courses and lectures from time to time

In what way will you work in BASTA's scientific council?

I have not yet completely figured that out. I have only attended one meeting so far, but I think that my perspective as both an auditor in BASTA and my role in supporting organizations with compilations and assessment documents allows me to see the system from both these angles.

I think this is valuable as I use BASTA's templates and other materials in my everyday life, for example, which allows me to provide feedback on these. Before I was invited to join the Council, I also made suggestions on the development of the criteria. This led, among other things, to criteria for recycled materials.
