Kubicom + BASTA – a collaboration for increased transparent sustainability information

Published 29 Sep 2025

Kubicom and BASTA are launching a collaboration that will make it easier to share and verify climate data in the construction sector. We met with Atle Andersen, CEO of Kubicom, to hear more about what the collaboration entails.

What is the background to the collaboration between Kubicom and BASTA?

The construction industry needs better ways to exchange information, not least when it comes to climate and environmental data. This is where we complement each other perfectly: Kubicom develops digital solutions to standardize information flows, while BASTA has the database with material and environmental data. By connecting our systems, it becomes possible to automatically transfer relevant climate values in connection with deliveries and transactions.

What will this mean for your customers?

It will be much easier for clients, contractors, and suppliers to access data. Instead of manually requesting climate values or hunting for documentation, they can follow along automatically via our systems. This saves time, increases transparency, and makes it easier to meet new requirements. For example, the Swedish Transport Administration's requirements for digital environmental reporting.

Can you give a concrete example?

Imagine that a contractor orders 1,000 windows. To collect environmental data on actual delivered products, separate time-consuming administration via logbooks, etc., is often used today. By integrating environmental data from a system such as BASTA with the delivery note in Kubicom, you get the right information, in real time, without duplication of work. If the delivery then actually only consists of 900 windows and, in addition, perhaps a different model than the one ordered, you get the correct environmental data for both the new number and the adjusted model for your climate report without any extra administration.

How does this contribute to sustainability efforts in the construction sector?

Through this collaboration, we can ensure that the right climate data is available in the right place at the right time. This is crucial for the industry to be able to make more informed decisions and meet climate targets. We see this as a step towards a more transparent construction sector where environmental data is not just an appendix, but an integral part of the business.

What is the timeline for the collaboration?

We are currently working on an integration project that will be completed in the fall. After that, we will gradually expand our services, for example with a digital logbook function that makes it possible to automatically document climate impact throughout the entire project.

What are you most looking forward to with this collaboration?

I look forward to us being able to show the way for the entire construction industry. By combining Kubicom's digital solutions with BASTA's strength in environmental data, we can create a standard that really makes a difference – both for companies and for the climate.
