Double launch: The Butterfly and expanded support for external requirement setters
Tell us about the new Butterfly label
-The Butterfly is Byggkeramikrådet’s new environmental symbol, developed to provide clearer guidance for the industry when selecting ceramic building products such as tiles, clinker and mosaics.
The Butterfly offers guidance both to members of Byggkeramikrådet and to those procuring ceramic building products. For a product to meet the Butterfly’s criteria, it must achieve an ALFA rating, and the company must be a member of Byggkeramikrådet.
What does the major IT update regarding external stakeholders involve?
- In connection with the launch of the Butterfly, support for external requirement providers has been expanded to include more actors and to improve clarity. This development builds on the positive feedback we have received regarding our previous integrations with other requirement providers.
We therefore decided to significantly expand the list by adding ten additional requirement providers and certifications, all of which are now visible on the product pages. What we do is essentially “translate” BASTA’s criteria and underlying data against the criteria used by other requirement providers.
This makes it easier to understand how different requirements and certifications relate to one another. For affiliated companies, it means that substantially more product information can be accessed and shared from a single platform.
