Import and export

Bulk import articles

Would you prefer not to register and update articles manually in the BASTA system? If so, you can work with bulk imports using an Excel file.

To create an efficient workflow, we recommend that you start by registering one or two articles manually and then export them to create a suitable template in the Excel file. Below is a guide for registering or updating your article register in the BASTA system using our import and export functions..

Are you experiencing challenges with the import file? Take a look at our FAQs for plenty of helpful tips and tricks!

Guidance - first import of new articles

Manual registration

Start by registering one or two articles manually in the BASTA system. You can then publish, review and adjust the articles until all information is presented the way you want it to appear on the article page. Once an article is published, the article or any updates will usually appear immediately in the search engine

Export the articles that you have registered manually. In the admin view, you can select which articles you would like to export.

Add new articles

Remember that most criteria areas are optional, but some fields within a criteria area are mandatory. In other words, once you start completing an optional criteria area, certain fields must be completed. See the tips below for working with the Excel file. If you have any questions, please refer to our FAQ for the import/export file.
  1. Work through the tabs from left to right.
  2. Grey-shaded fields are populated from other tabs.
  3. You may copy values between fields, for example EPD data, where the same values may apply to multiple articles.
  4. Do not unlock the tabs.
  5. Use a comma (,) as the decimal separator.

Import your file

  1. Once all information has been completed in the Excel import file, select “Upload” in the BASTA admin view and locate the file on your computer using the “Browse” button.
  2. Choose whether articles that are not included in the file should be unpublished or not.
  3. When the upload has been completed, the BASTA system will notify you of any formatting errors.

Do not delete

It is best to unpublish the article and leave it unpublished. We recommend avoiding deleting articles from the import file. If you do need to delete an article, you must work through the tabs from right to left when removing the article information

Do not delete

Det bästa är att avpublicera artikeln och låta den vara avpublicerad. Försök helst inte att radera en artikel i importfilen - måste du göra det behöver du gå från höger till vänster i flikarna för att radera artikeln.
