Logbook

Document products and sustainability data

The BASTA logbook service enables property owners, property managers, facility managers, contractors, architects and structural engineers to document the articles (construction products) used during new construction, renovation and the management of premises, buildings and infrastructure projects. A logbook can have an unlimited number of users from different organizations at no additional cost.

Using the logbook's features, you can work systematically with article and product selection. To simplify product selection, you can immediately see whether a product complies with the requirements of various certification schemes.

Ownership of a logbook can be transferred to another company, for example when responsibility for the logbook during the operational phase is handed over to another organization.

Get started with the logbook

Follow these simple steps to get started with your logbook account, invite members and begin working with logbooks.

After creating a user account and signing in to BASTA, you can choose to:

  • create a workspace for your organization
  • join an existing workspace through an invitation

Once you have created a workspace or joined an existing one, you can create projects (logbooks). The workspace makes it easy to maintain an overview of your company's projects and manage them efficiently.

Each logbook allows users to add members and assign different access rights. There is no limit to the number of users that can be added.

A logbook is used to document the products used in a construction project. Products can be organized according to a structure of your choice, and any deviations from project requirements can be documented.

When selecting products, you can primarily:

  • search the BASTA database.

If you cannot find the product you are looking for in the BASTA database, you can instead search:

  • the FINFO database. These products have not been assessed against BASTA criteria, but by adding them through this source, you can access basic product information without having to enter it manually.
  • the CCBuild marketplace to find reused products. If you have a CCBuild account, you can also sign in and search your organization's internal marketplace.
  • if you cannot find the product in any of the databases above, you can, of course, add the product manually.

Once all products have been added to the logbook, you can follow up on any reported deviations and analyse the distribution of products across different grade levels, among other things.

Each project includes a summary of key statistics for the products added to the logbook. This includes information such as grade distribution, product weights and other relevant metrics.

At the workspace level, you can also view aggregated data for products added across all logbooks. This can be used to generate statistics and monitor trends over time.

Certifications

There are a number of certifications on the market for buildings with criteria regarding digital logbooks and content in construction products, such as BREEAM-SE and Miljöbyggnad. This means that in order to reach the highest level for a certification, a logbook may be required. Read more about stakeholders.

Pricing

BASTA's logbook service is cost-effective and has a price level that is affordable, regardless of whether it is a single logbook or an organizational offer.

  • Per logbook: 5 000 SEK
  • Organization workspace with up to 50 logbooks included: 50 000 SEK

Logbook features

The workspace is a shared space where a company's projects (logbooks) and users who have access to the workspace are administered. The workspace makes it easy to overview and administer a company's projects.

A logbook is used to document which products that have been used in the construction project.

With access to BASTA's search engine directly in the logbook, you can search among all registered articles in the database, add articles from CCBuild and FINFO or add your own articles.
