The most photographed presentations at BASTA Day

Vilka presentationer fick deltagarna på BASTA-dagen att plocka fram mobilen? Tre bilder stack ut: om Safe and Sustainable by Design, sociala krav och Stockholm stads arbete med kravställning.

SSbD meets the BASTA-system

Maja Halling explored the similarities, differences and potential synergies between the EU’s Safe and Sustainable by Design framework, SSbD, and the BASTA-system.

- The image shows how the EU’s SSbD framework and the BASTA-system overlap in terms of hazard assessment criteria, while also highlighting where they differ. The Venn diagram illustrates which BASTA criteria are covered by SSbD and which product-specific criteria are added by the BASTA-system.

Social requirements in the supply chain

Sonja Markovic presented the results of a recent survey exploring how BASTA-system declarants work with social requirements in the supply chain and what needs they see going forward.

- I think many participants photographed this slide because it provided a clear overview of a regulatory landscape where a lot is happening. It highlights both requirements that are already in place and those that companies need to prepare for. The regulations differ in their requirements, but several rely on a good understanding of the supply chain, the origin of materials and products, and the associated risks.

The City of Stockholm as a requirements setter

The City of Stockholm presented its work on setting requirements and following up on building materials used in public environments, with a particular focus on digital delivery notes and GTIN.

- We believe many people in the industry recognise the need. Digital delivery notes represent a new way of working, where information follows the product digitally throughout the entire value chain. It involves stakeholders at several stages, and many want to get involved and contribute, which is exactly what we need to succeed, says Pernilla Morris, Environmental Coordinator at the Development Administration.
