How does the requirement from the Swedish Transport Administration work? 

Building without hazardous substances is part of the Swedish Transport Administration’s work towards sustainable construction. The requirements set out in the guideline "Materials and Articles: Requirements and criteria for the content of hazardous substances" (TDOK 2012:22) are intended to contribute to the sustainable development of the building and construction sector.

The requirements apply to materials and products used within the Swedish Transport Administration’s operations and must be applied in all activities that affect the content of hazardous substances in materials and products.

The assessment criteria are aligned with the BASTA system criteria, where Level A corresponds to ALPHA and Level B corresponds to BETA.

Requirements GROUP A:

  • Same as the BASTA grade ALPHA

Criteria that must be met in the BASTA system:

Group B
