BREEAM-SE

What is BREEAM-SE?

BREEAM-SE is the Swedish version of the British environmental certification system BREEAM for newly built buildings, and is managed by Sweden Green Building Council (SGBC).

How does it work? 

BREEAM-SE consists of two parts: requirements and points collection. The requirements are found in certain particularly important areas such as energy, water and waste.  In order to achieve a certain BREEAM-SE rating, you must meet the minimum requirements as well as reach enough points.

Points are earned by meeting various criteria. The BASTA system can be used to see if points can be earned in the areas of logbook and hazardous content in products. To collect points, 1) BASTA's logbook service can be used and 2) products can be registered in the BASTA system. If the product meets specific criteria in BASTA, it counts as points within BREEAM-SE.  Read more about the criteria that give points in BREEAM-SE below.

In order to earn points for the logbook, information is needed about the approximate quantity and location of the products in the building, as well as information about the product's contents. Information about the product's contents can come from an eBVD.
